and the world
We are finally ready to debut our business to the wider Internet community. It is with profound pleasure that I introduce georgetown.technology to the world!
We decided on a black and white motif for our company, for its simplicity. Through a good bit of luck, we managed to get ourselves a pretty straightforward domain name that literally spells out 68.97% of our company's fully registered name, Georgetown Technology Solutions.
Everything built on this site is based on free and open source technology, and mostly managed in-house. The Linode server is running on Ubuntu 16.04, and this site along with all its components is comprised nearly entirely of stock odoo 10 modules. We are proudly and gratefully using photos and images provided by artists in pixabay for free and commercial use.
We strive to be a different kind of software company. All of our workers are also owners of the company, and all earnings are equally divided amongst all our employees. Our computer services are offered on a "pay-what-you-want" as we believe that good tech support should not be out of reach for the poorest and amongst us, and that more often than not, you are paying far more than you need to for technology-related services. If you employ us, you can be sure that you are going to be working with a business committed to principles of fair wages for all workers, and affordable tech support to the local community.
To achieve these lofty ideals as espoused by the likes of Noam Chomsky, Murray Bookchin, or Emma Goldman, in an extremely capitalist world is not going to be easy, but we are going to give it our best shot. Ultimately, it will be you, members of the wider community who will decide whether a business based on being a kinder and more responsible member of society will succeed.
We hope you will join us in our venture!
Chan Ju Ping.
